Canadian lawmaker Tom Kmiec recognizes rights of Sindhis to struggle against Pakistan for human rights abuses

Ottawa [Canada], June 19 (ANI): Canadian MP Tom Kmiec recognized the rights of Sindhis to struggle against Pakistan for human rights abuses they commit on them.

Kmiec on Friday supported the solidarity of the Canadian public for the Ottawa-Freedom Walk for Sindh’s human rights, climate change, environmental justice, and love for nature reached, reported the EIN Newswires.

“This walk brings awareness of minority issues in Pakistan. It was an honour to address, meet and greet with them and give my support to their cause,” said Kmiec.

Sufi Munawar Laghari is the Executive Director of Sindhi Foundation based in Washington, D.C., U.S. He is a humble follower of Sindh’s great Sufi poet, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (1689-1752). An ardent proponent of Sindh and Balochistan’s unity, Mr. Laghari has tirelessly worked for the two oppressed peoples’ freedom from Pakistan.

PAKISTAN: Investigation into a physician’s murder kept on hold by the Sindh government

The Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) is repelled that the Sindh government has kept on hold the investigation into the wounding of political activists and the assassination of a physician during local body elections. Nationalist forces of Sindh province accuse agents of “invisible forces” for the doctor’s murder. They are responsible for the abductions, disappearances and extra judicial killings in the province. According to media reports this is the reason that the government is not holding an independent enquiry in this high profile murder.

ڈاکٹر لغاری کون تھے؟ سندھ میں ‌کون سا ایسا شخص ہے جو انور لغاری  کے والد محمد علی لغاری اور والدہ فاطمہ لغاری کو نہئں‌ جانتا؟ ڈاکٹر انور لغاری کے دونوں ‌والدین اکثر سندھی سیاسی، ادبی، سماجی و صحافتی حلقوں ‌میں ‌وسیع پیمانے پر چاچا محمد علی لغاری اور چچی فاطمہ لغاری کے نام سے جانے جاتے ہیں. چاچا محمد علی لغاری بقید حیات ہیں‌اور انکی اہلیہ فاطمہ لغاری پانچ سال قبل فوت ہوگئیں. میں‌سوچ رہا ہوں سندھ کی یہ فاطمہ اگر زندہ ہوتیں‌ تو ان کے لئے اپنے بڑے اور جواں ‌سال بیٹے انور لغاری کا قتل کتنا روح ‌فرسا ہوتا. باپ کے لئے بھی ہے لیکن باپ اور ہم سب لوگ تو غالب کی اس سطر کی طرح ‌ہیں ‌مرنے سے پہلے آدمی غم سے نجات پائے کیوں. لیکن ماں تو اولاد کے غم میں ‌مرنے سے پہلے ہی مرجاتی ہے نا. وہ بیٹا جسکو تعلیم دلوانے کے لئے اس محنت کش اور غریب خاتوں نے کتنی مشقتیں‌اور مزدوریاں ‌کیں. سندھ کی اس غریب اور کسان عورت کا ایک ہی مقصد تھا کہ وہ اپنی اولاد (کہ اسکے دو ہی بیٹے تھے) کو اچھی سے اچھی تعلیم دلوائے.

Sindhi Foundation Briefs UN Human Rights Council on Disappearances of Sindhi Nationalists in Pakistan

Washington, DC: The Sindhi Foundation has briefed the United Nations Human Rights Council on the cases of enforced involuntary disappearances of Sindhi nationalists and their killings by torture in Sindh province of Pakistan allegedly by military and its intelligence agencies.

Briefing the 107th session of the Working group on Enforced or involuntary Disappearances at the Palais Wilson of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights at Geneva, journalist and human rights defender Hasan Mujtaba alleged that today’s Pakistan is repeating atrocities of past committed in Argentina and Chile as far as disappearances of Sindhi nationalist activists and political dissidents are concerned. He termed Pakistan as the “land of disappearance.”

UN to be Briefed on Disappearances, Killings of Sindhi Youth

Washington: A US-based community organization working for the welfare of Sindhi people has said it will brief the UN on the enforced disappearances and killings of the youth that take place in Pakistan’s Sindh province.

A delegation of Sindhi Foundation comprising Hasan Mujtaba, journalist and human rights defender on Sindh and Sufi Laghari, executive director of the organisation will brief the 107th session of the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances to be held in Geneva on September 17, according to a media report.
