Ahwazi Struggle for Independence Turns Ninety : Toronto Gathering Pays Rich Tribute to Sabeen Mahmud

Toronto, April 25, 2015 – Organizations representing various national movements attended the event commemorating 90^th year of Al-Ahwaz occupation by Iran in 1925 hosted by Al-Ahwaz Democratic Popular Front (ADPF). Representatives of Al-Ahwaz, South Azerbaijan, Turkoman, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Kashmir, Sindh and Balochistan spoke of the Iranian state atrocities committed against Ahwazi civilians for the last 90 years and the heroic resistance of the people to regain their independence.

The event commenced with the national anthems of Al-Ahwaz and Canada followed by a moment of silence to honour the martyrs of Ahwazi struggle.

Rich Tribute Paid to Martyrs on the 89^th Year of Iranian Occupation of Al-Ahwaz

Toronto, April 26, 2014 – Ahwazi Democratic Popular Front held a gathering in Toronto to commemorate the 89^th year of Iranian occupation of Al-Ahwaz. The meeting at the North York Centre was attended by a diverse group of people belonging to the non-Persian nationalities under Iranian occupation. A large number of Al-Ahwazi Arabs, Azeri Turks, Turkoman, Palestinians, Lebanese, Sindhis and Baloch participated to express their commitment and solidarity with the independence struggle of Al-Ahwaz and nations under foreign occupation.

BHRC-Canada Meets Canadian MP Bob Dechert to Save Zahid Baloch, Chairman BSO-Azad

Toronto, April 24, 2014: A joint delegation of oppressed nations of Iran met Canadian lawmaker, Honourable Bob Dechert for a briefing on gross human rights violations committed by the theocratic regime against people of Al-Ahwaz, Turkmenistan, South Azerbaijan and Balochistan.

Representatives of Ahwazi Democratic Popular Front, South Azerbaijan Independence Party, Turkoman freedom movement and Baloch Human Rights Council (Canada) were present at the meeting.
