I started protesting after my father, Dr Deen Mohammed Baloch, was abducted from his hospital in Khuzdar, Balochistan, on 28 June 2009. I became an activist, raising my voice against the heinous crime of enforced disappearances: more than 5,000 people are missing in Balochistan.
In the 13 years since my father was taken, I have spent most of my time on roads, in front of journalists’ press clubs across Pakistan – with a photograph in my hand, asking a simple question: “Where is my father? What is his crime?”
Baloch youths continue to go missing unabated from Karachi. Homes have been raided in different localities in Karachi and four Baloch youth have been taken into custody and shifted to unknown locations.
At around 5 pm on 7 June 2022, Doda Baloch son of Elahi Bakhsh and his department fellow student Gamshad Baloch son of Sattar Baloch were forcibly disappeared by intelligence and security forces personnel at a house in Maskan Chowrangi area of Karachi.
Karachi police arrested several people including the Organizer of Baloch Solidarity Committee Karachi Amina Baloch, the Deputy Secretary-General of Voice of Baloch Missing Persons Sammi Deen Baloch, wife and sister of Baloch missing person Shabbir Baloch.
According to the Baloch Solidarity Committee, police have arrested several persons including BYC Karachi organizer Amina Baloch, Nada Kirmani, Zarina Baloch and Dostin Baloch.
