Repeating Balochistan in Sindh

Naseer MemonThe recent spate of violence in Sindh attained yet another traumatic dimension when the brutalised bodies of two young students were found in Dadu district. In a typical Balochistan-styled episode, both activists of a nationalist party, Amir Khahawar and Sajjad Markhand, were picked up in Larkano a few days ago and their tortured bodies were later found on the roadside.

National media, being too occupied with election mania, ignored the incident but the grisly news made rounds on Sindhi television channels. In a similar incident, another political activist, Muzaffar Bhutto, was found dead after a protracted disappearance and four other activists were killed near Sanghar in broad daylight.

HRCP slams ‘disappearances’ in Balochistan, killings in Sindh

HRCPLahore, April 29: The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has expressed serious concern at reports of apparently unauthorised raids and disappearance of several individuals in Kech and Gwadar districts of Balochistan and the killing of two political workers in Sindh.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Commission said: “It is a matter of great concern that the practices that have brought Pakistan to a precarious state continue even on the eve of the elections.

Bodies of two previously abducted Sindhi activists found

Aamir Khuhawad and Sajjad MarkhandKarachi: Tortured and bullet-ridden bodies of two activists of Jeay Sindh Muttaheda Mahaz have been found in Khaipore city of Dado on Sunday.

Sources reported that the bodies of Sindhi activists were stuffed in a sack and were discovered in a Nathan Shah village in Sindh.

The victims have been identified as Aamir Khuhawad and Sajjad Markhand. They men were reportedly abducted from Larkana three day ago.
