The Christian family seeks protection as the fanatics are bent on getting the assassin of Hendry Masih acquitted.
This ineffectual and futile rearguard action of putting up an apparently liberal and secular face in Balochistan is aimed at mollifying liberals and deceiving the Baloch people in general
The liberal circles in general, and pseudo-nationalists of Balochistan in particular, are ecstatic, too precipitously I’d say, over Nawaz Sharif’s decision to put Dr Abdul Malik in the saddle in Balochistan. The accolades and felicitations would have one believe that Mr Sharif’s ‘gift’ is a panacea for and a salve to all the injustices and atrocities perpetrated against the Baloch people and Balochistan for the last 65 years. Incidentally, this best choice of the establishment just is not good enough to help it stem the rising tide of demands for freedom.
BALOCHISTAN: At least two Baloch have been killed during a Pakistani military offensive in Pat Feedar area of Sui on Monday (27 May 2013). The Baloch fighters claimed to have inflicted heavy casualty to Pakistani forces.
According to Balochistan media sources Pakistani forces and their local death squad launched a massive military offensive against innocent Baloch civilians in RD 238 and Pat feeder areas of Sui. Houses of poor Baloch villagers were attacked, looted and set on fire.
Pakistani election 2013 in Balochistan, have been widely viewed by international and local political analysts as a referendum between those who ask for Baloch rights within Pakistani framework and those who seek an independence Baloch state.
Baloch nationalist political parties that advocate Baloch rights within the framework of Pakistani federation like National Party (NP) and Balochistan National Party (BNP -M) were brought onboard by Pakistani establishment to challenge the Baloch nationalists who seek the salvation of Baloch in the independence of Balochistan.
ISLAMABAD, May 16: The overall voter turnout in the recent elections was impressive, but not in most of the constituencies in Balochistan.
In PB-41 (Awaran), the turnout was 1.18 per cent and Abdul Judoos Bizenjo of the Pakistan Muslim League was declared winner with only 544 votes. Mir Hidayatullah of the National Party, who bagged 95 votes, was the runner-up.
Of the 57,666 registered votes in the constituency, only 672 were cast. (1.16% voter turnout)
Occupied Balochistan: Baloch resistance organisation, fighting for independence of Balochistan, claimed responsibility of attack on Pakistani security forces in different area of Balochistan on Saturday.
The representative of BLA, Azad Baloch, called media from an unspecified place and claimed responsibility for an attack on Pakistani forces, which killed three personnel and injured many others. He also claimed responsibility for a rocket attack on a camp of security forces in Kahan region of Balochistan.
