Protest the Political Assassination of Dr. Mannan Baloch by Pakistan Army
Toronto, Jan 31, 2016: Battling the sub-zero cold, a significant number of Baloch Canadians took part in a downtown Toronto rally to vent their anger at the Pakistani civil and military establishment for the cold-blooded murder of Dr. Mannan Baloch, Secretary General, Baloch National Movement (BNM) in Balochistan.
Dr. Baloch, his three colleagues and a nephew were murdered in execution style by Pakistan Army’s Special Forces in the early hours of Saturday, January 30th in the restive Balochistan region where the army is currently engaged in a bloody campaign of genocide and ethnic cleansing of the indigenous population.
WSC, BHRC Observe International Day to Support Victims of Torture
Toronto, June 28, 2014 – World Sindhi Congress (Canada) and Baloch Human Rights Council (Canada) held a joint event to observe the United Nation’s 26 June International Day in Support of Victims of Torture. A large number of Sindhi and Baloch community members and families attended the event in Toronto to express their support for the victims of torture and enforced disappearances in Sindh and Balochistan.
Speakers paid rich tribute to Khair Bakhsh Marri, legendary leader of Balochistan’s independence struggle and elaborated on his life and struggle that has greatly contributed and influenced the political movements in Balochistan. Audience observed a moment of silence to honour the passing away of Khair Bakhsh Marri and the uncompromising struggle he steadfastly led to free Balochistan from the military occupation by Pakistan in 1948.
Toronto, Sept 03, 2012 – Baloch Human Rights Council (Canada) and International Voice for Baloch Missing Persons jointly called for a protest rally in Toronto to commemorate the International Day of the Disappeared and draw attention to the enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
Baloch, Sindhi, and Kashmiri community members took part in the peaceful protest and expressed their solidarity with the people of Balochistan in their struggle for rights and freedom from occupation. The peaceful protesters carried placards and chanted slogans against the Iranian and Pakistani authorities and demanded immediate end to atrocities committed against the Baloch people.
