Political leaders, including a former Speaker of the state legislature, activists and human rights defenders protested outside the White House on Friday February 12th to protest against Pakistan’s military actions against opposition political activists and unarmed civilians in the country’s resource-rich province of Balochistan. The Baloch National Movement (BNM), whose central secretary general Manan Baloch, a physician by profession, was killed by the Pakistani security forces last month, organized the protest in the nation’s capital.
Washington, D. C.: Baloch of North America staged a demonstration yesterday (12 Feb, 2016) in front of the White House. They expressed their anger against the killing of Dr. Mannan Baloch and his comrades by the Pakistani army.
The call for this protest was given by Baloch National Movement (BNM) North America. Baloch from different political parties including Nabi Bakhsh Baloch, Co-organizer BNM – North America, Abdul Qadeer Baloch Vice Chairman Voice of Baloch Missing Person (VBMP) and Waheed Baloch, former Chairman Baloch Student Organization (BSO) took part in the protest against the assassination of Dr. Mannan Baloch Leader of BNM.

Last Saturday, I woke up to a phone call from a refugee who recently escaped death in Pakistan and now lives in Toronto.
Skipping the usual pleasantries, his voice quivering with anger, Lateef Johar told me:
“They’ve killed Dr. Manan and his son.”
“They”, being the Pakistan army that has occupied Balochistan since it invaded the independent state of Kalat in March, 1948.

Baloch leader and Secretary General of Baloch National Movement Dr Manan and one of his comrades, Sajid, were buried to rest in Kadh Koocha, Balochistan’s Mastung area, on January 30, 2016. He was martyred by Pakistan military on the same day with four comrades.

BALOCHISTAN: Local administrations of Gwadar and Turbat sealed many shops, hotels and private banks for observing a shutter down strike against the killing of Baloch National Movement (BNM) Secretary General Dr. Mannan Baloch and his five comrades in an alleged armed encounter on 30 January in Mastung.
Most of the shops remained closed on the third consecutive day on Tuesday in the two cities.
