Pashtun-Baloch Unity Day was observed in Kabul on Saturday where Pashtun and Baloch leaders gave vent to their views how to address the issue of militancy, insecurity and Talibanization. The crux of what they say is that the military establishment in Pakistan has been responsible for the current day plight of the two peoples—Pashtuns and Balochs.

Balochistan Independence Day observed in London
London: In a large gathering organized by Baloch Human Rights Council, the Baloch community in London observed the independence day of Balochistan. The meeting was held on 11 August 2013 in the Birkbeck University of London.
The meeting was to highlight the importance of the month of August in the Baloch history in which important happenings changed the destiny of the Baloch people. In August 1928, the Iranians were finally succeeded in occupying the Baloch chiefdom of western Balochistan with the use of brutal military prowess. On 11 August 1947, the Baloch State of Kalat declared its independence in the wake of British withdrawal from India but after a few months of independence, it was occupied by Pakistan in 1948.

The Khan immediately declared the independence of Balochistan, and Mohammad Ali Jinnah signed the proclamation of Balochistan’s sovereignty under the Khan.

14 Aug Black Day – Several rockets fired in Baluchistan, seven killed
Occupied Baluchistan: The security situation in Balochistan is threatening to spiral out of control as three rocket attacks in Quetta, and blasts in Khuzdar, Gwadar, Mastung and some other areas of Balochistan spread panic amongst the people of the province on Friday.
The first rocket landed on Masoom Shah Street close to the residence of Balochistan Home Secretary Akbar Hussein Durrani next to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. A constable identified as Lal Mohammad and a six-year-old passerby Mohammad Umer suffered splinter wounds. Durrani remained unhurt in the attack.
