Rich Tribute Paid to Martyrs on the 89th Year of Iranian Occupation of Al-Ahwaz

Toronto, April 26, 2014 – Ahwazi Democratic Popular Front held a gathering in Toronto to commemorate the 89th year of Iranian occupation of Al-Ahwaz. The meeting at the North York Centre was attended by a diverse group of people belonging to the non-Persian nationalities under Iranian occupation. A large number of Al-Ahwazi Arabs, Azeri Turks, Turkoman, Palestinians, Lebanese, Sindhis and Baloch participated to express their commitment and solidarity with the independence struggle of Al-Ahwaz and nations under foreign occupation.

Toronto, April 24, 2014: A joint delegation of oppressed nations of Iran met Canadian lawmaker, Honourable Bob Dechert for a briefing on gross human rights violations committed by the theocratic regime against people of Al-Ahwaz, Turkmenistan, South Azerbaijan and Balochistan.

Representatives of Ahwazi Democratic Popular Front, South Azerbaijan Independence Party, Turkoman freedom movement and Baloch Human Rights Council (Canada) were present at the meeting.

TORONTO: Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr.  has expressed concern over forced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in Balochistan. In a letter to Baloch Students Organization – Azad (BSO-A), Mr. John Baird expressed deep concern over Balochistan humanitarian situation and urged Pakistani authorities to respect their international human rights obligations.

Supports VBMP Long March for Enforced Disappearances in Balochistan

Toronto, November 10, 2013 – A joint protest rally by Baloch, Kurds, Al-Ahwazi Arabs, and progressive/liberal Iranians expressed their anger at the reprisal hangings of 16 innocent Baloch youth at the Zahedan prison by the Iranian clerics. The gathering of political activists expressed their solidarity with the long march by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons for the enforced disappearances in Balochistan.

Baloch activists in Canada held awareness day on Balochistan HR violations

vancover_IVBMP_BHRC(Canada)Vancouver: International Voice for Baloch Missing Persons and Baloch Human Rights Council (Canada) held a Balochistan Human Rights Awareness Day at the Simon Fraser University to inform the Canadian students and public about Pakistani and Iranian state atrocities against Baloch civilians.

Baloch students from Simon Fraser University actively participated in the one-day event by setting up information booths displaying photographs of enforced-disappeared Baloch youth and of the tortured, bullet-riddled bodies of Kill and Dump victims in Balochistan.

pakistani-generals-tarek-fatehI am flattered. Pakistan’s infamous military Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has taken exception to my columns in this newspaper and ordered the blocking of the Toronto Sun website in Pakistan.

In a recent column, I had written about reports that the Pakistan army was behind a Canadian cleric who threatened to storm the parliament building in Islamabad to pave the way for yet another military takeover.

Canada: Baloch Cultural Day

Baloch community of British Columbia and Baloch Community of Seattle together held a successful cultural event at Simon Fraser University in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada on Saturday March 31st 2012 with distingusihed speakers and display of Baloch arts the event had much to offer.

Hussain Baloch, a Simon Fraser University student took care of the stage with his opening statement. “My family made the big move to Canada when I was a very young little boy, and growing up here in Canada which is an obvious multicultural country, I think one of the most common questions that any Canadian gets asked on a daily basis is where your ethnic background is from? And being a Baloch, it was always a tricky question to answer, and the reason being was no one had heard of it, always left a confused look on people’s faces once they heard it. Who, what, and where are the Baloch people, well that’s what we are here to discover today.”
