Baloch Political Parties Protest Worldwide on Human Rights Day

Geneva : Observing International Human Rights Day on December 10, Baloch political activists around the world, including the UK, Canada, Australia, South Korea, Germany and many other European nations – held protests against the atrocities committed by the Pakistan establishment on their people back home.

Baloch National Movement (BNM), Baloch Republican Party (BRP), Baloch Students Organization-Azad (BSO-A) and Balcoh Republican Students Organization (BRSO) held protests in Australia, Canada, Germany, South Korea, Switzerland and the United Kingdom against Pakistani war crimes. The protests were attended by Baloch expatriates and local human rights and political activists.

Australian socialists condemn assassination of Baloch leader by Pakistani state

The following statement was released by Socialist Alliance (Australia) on February 3.

Socialist Alliance (Australia) condemns the murder by the Pakistani military on January 30 of Dr Mannan Baloch, Secretary General of Baloch National Movement (BNM), and four other BNM members. According to eyewitnesses, the military attacked the house where they were staying with mortar fire, then troops entered and shot each of the occupants in the chest and head. The youngest victim was just 19 years old. All the victims were unarmed.

The BNM is not an armed organisation. It has been waging a non-violent struggle for the independence of Balochistan, which has suffered partition and occupation by Pakistan and Iran since the 1940s.
