Our Degrees Are A Death Warrant For Us: Sadia Baloch

A regional conference was held at the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) on Saturday during which speakers from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Maldives spoke on topics ranging from youth politics, communalism, online harassment of women to regional connectivity, flood relief and more.

Organized jointly by AGHS Legal Aid Cell, Voicepk.net and South Asians for Human Rights, the hybrid conference with international speakers joining online was attended by hundreds of students, activists, journalists and lawyers.

The first session, ‘Challenges to youth participation in politics in South Asia’, was moderated by Prof Dr Ammar Ali Jan. Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement chairman Manzoor Pashteen and Baloch human rights activist Sadia Baloch.

Pak Judiciary is also complicit in Baloch Genocide and Forced Disappearances: Dr. Allah Nizar Baloch

Chief of Balochistan Liberation Front Dr. Allah Nizar Baloch said that the judiciary is also complicit in Baloch genocide, enforced disappearances and other crimes against humanity along with Pakistani army. The recent judicial activism, the summoning of the Prime Minister and the remarks of the Chief Justice are nothing but an attempt to deceive the Baloch nation and create faith in the Pakistani judicial system. Within the Pakistani establishment, the judiciary is subordinate to military force. Subordinate institutions can never rebel against the axis of power.

He said that during his visit to Quetta, Shehbaz Sharif clearly said that regarding enforced disappearances he would talk to the related powers.  Where the Chief Executive of the country publicly declares that he is helpless and powerless, it is not difficult to estimate the powers of a judge or the so-called judicial system.

Balochistan: the reality – IV

Thanks to the arrogant, avaricious and short-sighted policies of the rulers, Balochistan has been perpetually blighted by colossal problems of a very serious nature; making it a bottomless pit of deprivation and destitution laced with menacing despotism for the people.

Ironically, those responsible for these ills have expediently chosen to blame the people and their leaders for the same. This blaming of the people and their leaders is absolutely malicious and fraudulent because the reality not only contradicts their claims but also brands them as the guilty party.
