The elusive leader of a major rebel group fighting for independence in Pakistan’s Baluchistan province said he would welcome cash and other help from India, words likely to alarm Islamabad which accuses New Delhi of stirring trouble there.

New Delhi  |September 29, 2016: All India Baloch unity forum on Thursday held a protest against Pakistan outside Pak High Commission in Delhi. The protest comes just hours after Indian Army conducted surgical strikes on terror launch pads across the Line of Control.

While interacting with the media at protest side, Baloch leader Mazdak Dilshad Baloch said “We support such strikes and want Indian Army to conduct surgical strikes in Balochistan as well.”

Women, kids being targeted to discourage Baloch resistance, say activists

IANS | Sep 28, 2016 | Balochistan : Rattled by growing resistance across its restive Balochistan province, the Pakistan Army has intensified its crackdown in recent weeks, especially targeting women and children, and leaving several dead and many missing, say Baloch activists.

According to well informed local sources, the death toll and abduction cases are over 43 and 185, respectively, as of September 27. About 30 of the dead are women and children, activists in Balochistan told IANS in phone conversations, email exchanges and via video conferencing.

Pak forces abduct 30 people from wedding ceremony on a CPEC route in Balochistan

BALOCHISTAN: Security forces raided the Singabad village of Tijaban area in District Kech, Balochistan, Tuesday evening, kidnapping at least 30 men attending a wedding ceremony.

The village was kept under heavy military siege for hours. Forces conducted a house-to-house search operation, looted valuables and took all the men into custody at a wedding ceremony. The groom, Ramzan Baloch, was also picked up. They are all missing since then.

Police ordered to register case to find out ‘missing’ Wahid Baloch

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Monday directed the Sohrab Goth police to register a case to track down a Baloch social worker allegedly taken away by unidentified personnel of the law enforcement agencies.

A two-judge bench headed by Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto also directed the police to prepare an inquiry report and submit it in court on the next date of hearing on Oct 23.

White House petition to declare Pak terror state crosses 100,000 signatures

An online White House petition asking for Pakistan to be declared as a state sponsor of terrorism has crossed 100,000 signatures thus qualifying to get a response from the Obama administration.

The online petition launched by Indian Americans last week has become the third most popular petition on the White House website with nearly 110,000 people signing the petition. The Obama administration is expected to respond to it within 60 days

The online petition was created on September 21.
