BALOCHISTAN: Local administrations of Gwadar and Turbat sealed many shops, hotels and private banks for observing a shutter down strike against the killing of Baloch National Movement (BNM) Secretary General Dr. Mannan Baloch and his five comrades in an alleged armed encounter on 30 January in Mastung.
Most of the shops remained closed on the third consecutive day on Tuesday in the two cities.
However, the local administration asked the traders, hotel owners and private bank officials to open up their businesses.
The administration sealed their businesses after they refused to follow the directives. Similar was the position in Turbat where over a dozen shops and private bank branches were sealed by the local administration.
It is worth mentioning that Deputy Commissioner when contacted by BBC Urdu he denied the charges of issuing such orders.
Analyst believe the Balochistan is run under the directive of Pakistan army, not only the local administration but the provincial government is just a puppet following instructions of the Pakistan army.
