Five killed 31 abducted by Pakistani forces during military operation in Awaran

Pak-Army-operationBALOCHISTAN: Pakistan army has launched fresh military offensives in different areas  of Awaraan district of Balochistan on Wednesday morning. Baloch Republican Party Media Cell sources reported, that at least five people were killed while two children among eight wounded in the bombardment of Pakistani security forces in Jhaho area of Awaraan district.

Where were you Lahore, when we were protesting for our missing Baloch brethren?

VBMP Long March Lahore

I attended the long march of the Baloch Voice for Missing Persons (BVMP) in Lahore to show my solidarity with the cause. I was amongst the journalists who came from various news organisations to document a critical portion of the walk that had departed from Quetta last year.

The protestors were entering the capital of Punjab. The reception they got here could mirror the reception they receive in Islamabad.

The walk had caused quite a stir among those who followed the story behind it. The protest walk, led by Mama Qadeer Baloch, the vice president of the BVMP, received due press attention at each stop they made. When they entered Punjab, excitement over the growing popularity of the cause grew.

PAKISTAN: The Long March in support of the families of victims of enforced disappearances is under threat and the government is preparing to halt the marchers by force

AHRC Asian-Human-Rights-CommissionThe Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has received reports that Mama Qadeer, the organiser of the Long March from Balochistan to Islamabad, the purpose of which is to urge the Pakistani government to do something about the ongoing enforced disappearances of Balochi activists is receiving death threats.

The marchers have now reached an area just ten miles outside of Wazirabad and Qadeer and his supporters, Qadeer Baloch and Banuk Farzana Majeed Baloch addressed the crowd and explained to them about the situation of Baloch and Long March.
