VBMP long march attacked near Winder

BALOCHISTAN: An unknown Alto car attacked Mama Qadeer Baloch the Vice Chairman of Voice of Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) near Winder on Tuesday morning November 19, 2013. A Alto car driven by unknown men tried to run over him twice.

According to the telephonic conversion with Baloch Human Rights Council (BHRC-Canada) Mama Qadeer survived an attack after he was chased near Winder Balochistan by what he describes was a beige color Alto car.

According to Mama Qadeer, it was around 10:30 am, local time; he was walking faster and was ahead of his fellow marchers. He just took a rest by the side of road, a beige color Alto came straight onto him which was following the long march from a distance. Then the same car reversed and tried to run over Mama Qadeer again but he fell on the side, in this instance the rest of the members of the march arrived and the car fled the scene.

It is worth mention here that during this march there was a small presence of police accompanying the march, but at this specific time the Police completely disappeared from the scene and were nowhere to be seen.

Taking on phone Mama Qadeer Baloch said “They cannot stop me from raising the profile of Baloch Disappeared Persons”.

Voice of Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) are protesting against enforced disappearances in Balochistan. The families of the missing, who started their long march from Quetta on Oct 27, have reached Adam Kand Gadani area, 20kms away from Hub City on Tuesday, led by Mama Qadeer Baloch, Vice Chairman of Voice of Missing Baloch Persons (VBMP). The families continued their journey on Tuesday evening, as more people joined them on their way in 24th day.

The distance from Quetta in Balochistan province to Karachi in the Sindh province of Pakistan is 700 km.
