BALOCHISTAN: The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons and family of abducted Baloch student Zakir Majeed Baloch took out a protest rally on Saturday 8 June 2013 for safe release of Zakir Majeed Baloch. Mr Majeed was abducted four years ago on 8 June 2009 from Mastung area of Balochistan.
The rally was led by the Vice Chairman of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, Qadeer Baloch, and the family of Zakir Majeed. A large number of Baloch activists and students took part in rally to express their support with family of enforced-disappeared person in Balochistan.
HYDERABAD, June 10: A banned Sindhi nationalist organisation, Jiye Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM), has said it plans to hold a congregation in the city on July 6 on the issue of “freedom of Sindh”, in order to present what it called “the national case of Sindh and its fundamental agenda to the United Nations, human rights organisations and international community”.
JSMM chairman Shafi Mohammad Burfat said in a statement that the purpose of the congregation was to highlight the ideology of G.M. Syed for regaining ideological and economic interests of Sindh and to “strive for freedom, justice, coexistence, global peace”.
Geneva: The representative of the United Kingdom and the United States on 7th June poured cold water over joint attempts by Pakistan, China and Cuba to stop Mehran Baluch from speaking at United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) – 27th Meeting 23rd Regular Session of Human Rights Council on 7th June 2013 – over the custodial killings by Pakistan.
