Occupied Balochistan: Pakistani forces have started massive military offensives in different areas of Dera Bugti, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad and adjoining Jacobabad area. Several hundred vehicles of Pakistani forces laid a siege to many villages including Go pat, Muhan Pat, Sanri, Doda dibba and others in all three districts. Pakistani forces put fire on the entire villages and turned them into ashes.
Seventeen innocent Baloch villagers including women and children were killed during the operation. They killed people were identified as Haleem Bugti, his wife Zadi bibi and daughter Khairah Bibi; Bewaragh Bugti and his seven months old child Jamal; Basheer Bugti; Peesh Bugti; Murad Baksh, his wife and three children,; Laddaw s/o Abdullah Bugti and Karghi Bugti, his wife along with two children. The exact number of casualties is unknown as the offensives continue and the areas remain under tight siege of Pakistani forces but fears are that the figure could be much more as the forces put fire on houses while the people including women, children and elderly were still inside them and were not allowed to evacuate the houses.
A large number of people have also been abducted during the operation. More than twenty Baloch families were abducted including that of Gaja Bugti, Hameed Bugti and Girra Bugti along with their whole families. The lives of the abducted people is in extreme danger as the forces usually take the abducted to unknown torture cells, inhumanely torture them and later kill them and dump their bodies in desolated places.
The operations come on the dawn of the Black day of March 27 when the Baloch nation is marking the illegal occupation of their land. Balochistan was forcefully annexed with Pakistan on March 27, 1948 and since then, the Baloch people have been continuously suffering from the hands of Pakistani forces. Military operations, enforced disappearances, torture and other atrocities have become a daily routine.
The people of the area were staging a protest demonstration and observing the black day when forces attacked them and unleashed brutalities on them. The populace has been targeted to pave the way for foreign countries and international companies to invest in Balochistan and loot the natural resources of the area.
Baloch Republican Party has been raising the injustices and atrocities against Baloch people on international level and we have been opposing the Gawadar port’s handover to China and Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project in Balochistan which are also among the reasons of the intensification of military operations, enforced disappearances and extra-judicial killings of Baloch people by Pakistani forces in Balochistan. Such inhumane policies can no longer deter Baloch people’s struggle for their inalienable rights and freedom.
BRP appeals to the International court of justice, Human Rights organizations, United Nations and International community to take immediate notice of state atrocities and human rights abuses committed by Pakistani forces in Balochistan and play their due role in ending genocide of the Baloch people and illegal occupation of Balochistan.
