Balochs step up freedom struggle

(August 15, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) Coinciding with the63rd anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence Day, Baloch freedom-fighters have stepped up their freedom struggle in different parts of Balochistan, including Quetta, the provincial capital. There has been a number of incidents of attacks on the police and para-military forces, rocket-firings and targeted killings of Punjabis living in the province. Incidents have also been reported from Gwadar, where the Chinese have constructed a major port.

Lal Bakhsh Rind passes away
QUETTA: Mir Lal Bakhsh Rind, a prominent Baloch political activist ’70s, passed away after protracted illness. He was 78 and left behind a daughter to mourn his death.
He was laid to rest in Karachi. Thousands of people, mostly political workers and trade union activists, participated in his funeral.
