Qambar Chakar: A Man and a Myth

Qamber Chakar was abducted by Pakistani state intelligence agencies on 26 November 2010 from his house in Shahi tump. He bullet ridden body was found with his colleague student Illyas Nassar on 5 January 2011 from Pedark near Turbat. This article is being re-posted in his memory. (Baluch Sarmachar)

Birth of a Leader

In Shahi Tump, a far-flung town of Balochistan in Kech (Turbat) district, the house of Chakar Baloch was overflowed with merriness and gleaming lights over the birth of the first son, Qambar. The boy was to become an inspriational leader for the Baloch people soon after entering his teen ages. One day, some ill-fated soldiers of darkness would walk, take this light away to the shadow of torture and death. His was a story of celebrations in unison. When he was born, the whole family, even the entire town cheered up with uncontrollable delight. When he was killed, the whole of Balochistan wept. His was a song of happiness and a melancholy.

Baloch Missing Persons dead bodies found in Balochistan
Occupied Balochistan: Police found four dead bodies of Baloch missing persons, including a member of Baloch Students Organisation (BSO-Azad), here on Saturday. All bodies bore marks of brutal and inhuman torture, hospital sources confirmed.

Central leader of BSO-Azaad Shafi Baloch killed in Pakistani custody

Occupied Balochistan – June 23: Central leader of the Baloch Students Organization (BSO-Azad), Mr. Shafi Baloch’s mutilated dead body has been found from Bolan area and shifted to his ancestral town of Sibbi for burial. Shafi Baloch was abducted by Pakistani intelligence agencies on Friday June 17th 2011 near Lakhpass area of Mastung district.

Body of Sher Zaman Kurd recovered from Western bypass Quetta

Occupied Balochistan: A bullet-riddled body, which had been found at Western Bypass in the jurisdiction of Airport Police Station on 12/03/2011, was identified as that of Sher Zaman Kurd a, 22 year old, activist of Baloch Student Organisation (BSO-Azad) According to family sources Kurd was abducted by secret agencies from Dasht area some three weeks ago and was killed in their custody.
