Secretary General UNO
New York, USA. 03 May, 2013
The UNO should play its role in stopping human rights abuses being committed by Pakistan against the Baloch
It’s to bring to your attention that the Baloch people have time and again knocked the door of the United Nations to seek help to stop massive human rights abuses they suffer at the hands of Pakistani and Iranian states. However, with utmost regret, the esteemed world body has not taken any significant step so far to investigate these crimes against humanity being committed, especially by Pakistan.
Toronto, April 22: Baloch Human Rights Council (Canada) has expressed serious concerns related to the rising tide of Pakistan state atrocities against civilians across Balochistan. BHRC noted that not a day goes by when Baloch activists belonging to various nationalist and pro-independence organisations are not picked up, subjected to torture, target-killed, and their mutilated bodies dumped in different locations in Balochistan and Karachi.
Toronto, April 12: Baloch Human Rights Council (Canada) while condemning the recent state-backed attack on the offices of a Balochistan-based newspaper, Daily Tawar, described the precarious situation in Balochistan as a ‘killing field’ of human rights. The process of electing a parliament in any democratic society is a freedom of expression and rights exercised by the civil society – the state policy of silencing the Baloch media at this critical instant is an open statement of war on freedom of expression and the rights of a people.
Occupied Balochistan: The pro-independence Baloch political parties and student organisations in their separate statements have announced to boycott Pakistani elections in Balochistan.
The patriot Baloch parties that are boycotting the Pakistani elections include the Baloch National Movement, the Baloch National Voice, the Baloch Republican Party, the Baloch Liberation Party, the Baloch Student Organisation – Azad and the Baloch Salvation Front.
London, April 11 (ANI): Pakistan has been using these Islamic fundamentalist groups to quell the Baloch nationalist movement, a spokesman of the UK-based Baloch Nationalist Movement (BNM) has claimed.
Speaking in an exclusive interview to ANI here, BNM spokesman Hammal Haider said: “This is the Pakistan Government’s policy, they are making these Islamic groups in Balochistan powerful in order to quell Baloch nationalists.”
“It is crystal clear that Pakistan has been using these Islamic fundamentalist groups to safeguard their interests, it’s evidently clear that in province of Afghanistan and other places, Pakistan’s intelligence agencies are using them for their petty interests,” he added.
Occupied Balochistan: Baloch National Front announced to boycott all Pakistani electronic media channels including Baloch TV VSH in Balochistan due to the intentional censoring of Baloch Genocide by these channels.
The spokesman of BNF said that the behavior of Pakistani media channels in Balochistan is very negative and the channels have continuously been acting as the mouthpieces of Pakistani Army.
Baloch rally called for UN intervention in Balochistan and urged the international media to break their ‘criminal silence’ on Pakistani state atrocities in Balochistan.
Karachi: Large numbers of Baloch women, children, and elderly have participated in a procession against military operations in Balochistan and media’s failure to report about Baloch genocide by Pakistan. The rally set off from Ath Chowk in Lyari, also known as Nawab Bugti Chowk, and marched all the way to Karachi Press Club. The Baloch National Front, an alliance of BSO-Azad and BNM, had given the call for the rally.
The participants of rally were carrying banners, placards and flags of Balochistan. They chanted slogans against Pakistan and its security agencies. They also painted walls and shutters of closed shops with graffiti including: “BALOCH WANT FREEDOM, NO VOTE NO ELECTION AND STOP BALOCH GENOCIDE.” The rally transformed into a huge demonstration after they reached to the Press Club.
