QUETTA: A wheel jam and shutter down strike was observed in almost all of the Baloch dominated areas of Balochistan  on Friday (10-May-2013) which was the 2nd day of strike in protest against the elections..

The Baloch National Front (BNF) an alliance of Baloch National Movement (BNM) and Baloch Student Organization (Azad) BSO (A) had given the call for strike from 9 to 11 May on the eve of elections on account of their opposition towards elections in Balochistan.

Balochistan shuts down over anti-election strike call

QUETTA: A complete shutter-down and wheel-jam strike was observed in Baloch dominant district of Balochistan on Thursday (9 May 2013) on the call of Baloch National Front (BNF) against the general election. The Baloch National Front (BNF) is an alliance of Baloch National Movement (BNM) and Baloch Student Organization (Azad) BSO (A) had given a three-day strike call in Balochistan against the general elections. All busy markets, business centres and shopping malls remained closed during the day and a sense of fear ruled in general. The provincial capital also presented a dull look with lesser number of vehicles plying on the roads and most of the shops closed. Tight security measures were seen in the provincial capital with police backed by FC and other law enforcement agencies patrolling the area throughout the day.

BNF Rally_27 Mar 2013_Quetta 8Occupied Balochistan: The pro-independence Baloch political parties and student organisations in their separate statements have announced to boycott Pakistani elections in Balochistan.

The patriot Baloch parties that are boycotting the Pakistani elections include the Baloch National Movement, the Baloch National Voice, the Baloch Republican Party, the Baloch Liberation Party, the Baloch Student Organisation – Azad and the Baloch Salvation Front.

BNF Boycotts and bans Pakistani electronic media in Balochistan

Pakistani Media in vshOccupied Balochistan: Baloch National Front announced to boycott all Pakistani electronic media channels including Baloch TV VSH in Balochistan due to the intentional censoring of Baloch Genocide by these channels.

The spokesman of BNF said that the behavior of Pakistani media channels in Balochistan is very negative and the channels have continuously been acting as the mouthpieces of Pakistani Army.

Hundreds of Baloch rally in Karachi against media blackout in Balochistan

Baloch rally called for UN intervention in Balochistan and urged the international media to break their ‘criminal silence’ on Pakistani state atrocities in Balochistan. 

Karachi: Large numbers of Baloch women, children, and elderly have participated in a procession against military operations in Balochistan and media’s failure to report about Baloch genocide by Pakistan. The rally set off from Ath Chowk in Lyari, also known as Nawab Bugti Chowk, and marched all the way to Karachi Press Club. The Baloch National Front, an alliance of BSO-Azad and BNM, had given the call for the rally.

The participants of rally were carrying banners, placards and flags of Balochistan. They chanted slogans against Pakistan and its security agencies. They also painted walls and shutters of closed shops with graffiti including: “BALOCH WANT FREEDOM, NO VOTE NO ELECTION AND STOP BALOCH GENOCIDE.” The rally transformed into a huge demonstration after they reached to the Press Club.

Pakistan is violating UN charter: Banok Makekan Baloch

Mahekan BalochOccupied Balochistan: A huge rally was held by Baloch National Front (BNF) against Pakistani state atrocities and media blackout in Balochistan on 2 February 2013 in Turbat. Talking to the media Baloch Student Organization – Azad (BSO-A) activist Banok Makekan Baloch explained the cause and aim of the rally.

She said; As Baloch National Front (BNF) conducted this rally we want to make aware the civilized world, international community, Human Rights activists and especially international media.  Our main goal for this rally is, we urge United Nation (UN) to interfere in Balochistan for human rights and especially for international law violations. Pakistan is not only violating UN charter and international declaration of human rights, but Baloch are facing Pakistani atrocity since 1947.

Three Baloch killed in Mastung by Pakistani military, BNF calls for strike

Mustung_Balochistan_MapOccupied Balochistan: At least three people have been killed during a raid on a Baloch residential area in Parkano area of Mastung town in Balochistan on Friday.

Pakistan Frontier Corps (FC), which has recently been given a free hand to carry out target operations in Balochistan, conducted the operation. The victims have been identified as Rasheed Shahwani Baloch, Shah Jahan and Saddam; Raseed Baloch reportedly died on the spot whereas Shah Jahan and Saddam were apprehended wounded and later shot dead in cold-blood.

The strike in various cities of Balochistan was against the ongoing human rights violations including disappearances, custodial and targeted killings and the recent military operation by Pakistani security forces in Gidar, Nalent and Kulanch areas of Balochistan.

Baloch National Front condemns military operation in Gidar Balochistan

Occupied Balochistan: The spokesman of Baloch National Front strongly condemning the military operation in Gidar area of Balochistan has said that a military operation under the command of Shafeeq Mengal and SanaUllah zehri, is being conducted from last two days in Killi Alim Khan Zahi, Gidr are in Soorab, Balochistan. The military Gunship Helicopters are continuously bombarding the Baloch localities. At least two women and a child have died in the brutal military aggression.

The statement further said that the operation was initiated two days ago by Pakistani forces with the help of Shafeeq Mengal and Sanaullah Zehri. Many houses and properties have been totally destroyed by massive bombardment. The whole area is still under siege and there are reports that there is acute shortage of necessary commodities.
