QUETTA: Another confidant of veteran Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Khair Baksh Marri, was killed by unidentified persons on Saturday (30 June 2012) in Quetta city after stabbing him to death.
According to reports, Noor Ahmed Qambarani, a longtime friend and confidant of Nawab Khair Baskh Marri, was sitting at a local shop in Quetta’s Satellite Town when unknown people reached assaulted him with sharp knives. As a result Mr. Qambarani received serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. However, he passed away on the way while he was being shifted to the hospital.
Mr. Qambarani is second confidant of Nawab Marri to be killed within ten days. Earlier, Nazir Marri, a teacher with close ties with the seasoned Baloch leader, was also shot dead in Quetta.
While the news of Mr. Qambarani immediately spread across Balochistan, his cousin Dadullah Qambarani had a deadly heart attack after hearing the news. Dadullah Qambarani is the father of Ghaffar Qambarani, National Party’s finance secretary.
The killing of Mr. Qambarani has been widely condemned by Baloch nationalist parties, including the Baloch Republican Party and the National Party.
